About Our Bridal Fitting Service

One of the advantages of visiting a physical bridal boutique is the ability to try on wedding gowns.

In our opinion, it is the only way to find your dream wedding dress and this is why we offer 60-minute fitting appointments so that you won’t feel rushed or overwhelmed.

There’s a reason why we have a 4.9 star rating from over 200+ happy customers.

What Happens At A Bridal Fitting?

Bridal fittings can be a bit daunting when you’ve never tried on a wedding dress before.

But you’ve probably tried on clothes at a store before – while not exactly the same, the end goal is. That is, we’re here to help you find the dress that makes you look and feel great.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • At your bridal fitting, you’ll begin by sharing your wedding vision and dress preferences with a consultant. This may take a few minutes and you’re more than welcome to bring in photos for inspiration.
  • Your consultant will digest the information and select a variety of gowns, starting broadly and refining your choices based on style and comfort.
  • You will be asked what you like and don’t like about each dress you try on – this will help us find the right style and vibe for you.
  • During the fitting, our bridal fitting specialist will discuss adjustments and alterations to help you achieve the perfect fit (because every ready-to-wear wedding dress needs alterations).

Some customers have already browsed our collection of wedding dresses and know exactly which dresses they wish to try.

Other customers don’t know where to start.

Either way, its OK because we’re here to help you find the dress that resonates with YOU.

How Long Are Your Fitting Appointments?

Our bridal fitting appointments are 60-minutes in total where 40-50 minutes are spent on trying on various dresses.

How Many Gowns Can I Try On?

We don’t limit the number of gowns you try on, however, in our experience, the magical number is three.

This is because three gowns give you ample time to know whether or not the dress you’re trying is right for you. Any more and you will start to feel rushed and that’s not an experience we want for you.

Where To Find Us

Conveniently centrally located in Ryde, we’re a short drive from Sydney’s North Shore, Hills District, Inner West, and Western Sydney.

Will I Need An Appointment Or Can I Walk-In?

To avoid disappointment, we highly recommend that you use the contact form below to request a appointment.

Typically speaking, we are fully booked out on Saturdays as they are the most popular days so it is best you make a booking request in advance.

On Tuesday appointments are necessary as we do not have staff present at the store unless someone has made a reservation for a bridal fitting.

What Days Of The Week Are You Open For Fittings?

Our business hours are:

  • Monday: 10:00am-4:00pm
    Tuesday: By appointment only
    Wednesday: 10:00am-2:00pm
    Thursday: 12.00pm-7:00pm
    Friday: 10:00am-5:00pm
    Saturday: 9:30am-5:00pm
    Sunday: Closed

Because our fittings are an hour long, the last appointment for each day will be an hour prior to closing time.

Emerald Bridal is typically closed on public holidays.

Can I Bring Someone With Me To My Fitting?

Of course you may!

Most of our customers bring their best friend. Ideally, you want someone you trust who will give you their honest opinion because they know you and want the best for you.

Depending on your relationship, you may also consider bringing your mum.

We do, however, request that you bring no more than 4 guests to your appointment.

If you can’t bring someone along with you, you may FaceTime them during your fitting to get a second opinion (but sorry, no photos).

May I Take Photos During The Fitting?

Photos are not permitted during your consultations, however:

  • FaceTime or video calls are welcome
  • If the gown you’re trying is discontinued, you or your guest may take photos of it or of you wearing it

What Styles, Designers Or Specific Gowns Do You Carry?

We carry a wide range of styles to suit the modern bride.

These include the timeless A-Line silhouette, mermaid silhouette, trumpet silhouette, the-ever-popular strapless style, off-shoulder, and bohemian vibes.

Not sure what is what?

Don’t worry, that’s what a bridal fitting is for so that you can try on different styles, cuts and silhouettes and actually see and feel if it is right for you.

Prior to your consultation, we’ve prepared a number of helpful guides as pre-reading:

In terms of designers and labels, we have our own private collection (you won’t find anywhere else) in addition to some brands such as Lillian West, Modeca, Morilee and Sweetheart.
