Trumpet

Trumpet wedding dresses get their name from the trumpet-like flare at the knees. They are almost like an a-line skirt but lack the contouring of the fit and flare. As you will see, some of our bridal wear are a modern blend of the a-line and trumpet silhouette.

The trumpet silhouette is in some ways similar to the mermaid silhouette. This is why it is often compared with the mermaid cut.

The name comes from its trumpet-like flare and because this typically starts mid-thigh level, it offers more mobility compared to the knee level of the mermaid.

Trumpet wedding dresses can also take the upper torso appearance of the fit and flare (a-line) silhouette. However, in the case of the trumpet, the flare is more gradual.

On the left is mermaid (fish-tail) and on the right is a typical trumpet silhouette.
